What is Geocaching?
Geocaching is a modern and exciting adventure. It is a very popular activity using modern GPS technology which attracts people of all ages. Today's top technology allows us to find precise locations of geocaches (hidden boxes) in the remote countryside. Hunt and find your reward in a hidden box. It's time for a modern treasure hunt. If you have never played this game before, come and have fun with us.
History of Geocaching
The start of geocaching is directly related to a decision made by former US President Bill Clinton. As of midnight, 1 May 2000, the
Standard Positioning Service (SPS) system became 30 times more
accurate when the US President ordered that the Selective Availability
(SA) component of SPS to be discontinued. SA was the deliberate
decrease of accurate positioning information which is available for
commercial or civilian use. This decision turned the GPS, formerly just an expensive toy, into a device that could define the exact location of any place.
Itinerary
Upon arrival at the destination the commander welcomes you and after a short briefing you will be divided into teams. Each team of 5-10 people will receive instructions, navigation map and a GPS receiver. The goal of the game is to find the geocaches, which are hidden somewhere in the countryside. In every box there are brain-twisters, codes and puzzles which have to be solved in order to be able to continue. In addition, you will meet interesting people to whom you will assign various team tasks. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, you can stay overnight in a tent or a wooden hut and enjoy an evening campfire.
