Coach / Cars

Rental cars are reliably available from Arusha, Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar. Car Rental also offer self-drive or chauffer driven vehicle. Long haul bus service can also connect you to the main towns in the country. It is advisable to find out beforehand if the quality of rail and long haul bus service is acceptable to you. For short haul travel, the popular way to get around is by means of dalla dalla (shared taxi).

Air

Coastal Travels and Precision Airlines offer a wide range of air charters and scheduled flights to Dar es aalam, Selous, Arusha, Mafia, Ruaha, Zanzibar, Lake Manyara and other destinations in Tanzania.

Train

Tanzania's main populations centers are connected by rail link. Trains are of various standards and on longer routes you can choose between 1st class sleeping (two berth cabins) 2nd class sleeping or 3rd class seats.

Boat

There is a daily speed boat service to Zanzibar from Dar es Salaam which takes approximately 3 hours. Lake Tanganyika and Lake Victoria have a steamer service.
