Turkey

Coach / Cars

Most of the inter city transport depends on buses, which will take travellers to even the smallest town or village in Turkey. There are also local transportation companies serving passangers in towns and villages.

Air

Turkey has airports in many cities, so flying is fast and comfortable. The domestic flights are operated by the national air carrier Turkish Airlines.

Train

Trains have a hard time competing with long-distance buses for speed and comfort, but the sleeping-car trains linking Istanbul, Izmir and Ankara are good value.

Boat

Ferries operate from Istanbul to Izmir and, from June to September, to Trabzon. There is also a hydrofoil from Istanbul to Yalova.
