Desert Adventures Tourism gives travellers insight into Ramadan
Desert Adventures Tourism, the business unit of Kuoni Destination Management in the Middle East, has launched the new product line “Explore”. Its first package “Once in a lifetime - Ramadan Kareem” will incorporate fascinating and extraordinary cultural experiences and is available with immediate effect.
Ramadan is an Islamic religious observance which takes place every year during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is of great religious significance to Muslims who observe the period with daytime fasting, worship and spiritual contemplation.
“Once in a lifetime - Ramadan Kareem” now offers all travellers the opportunity to get to know this religious period from a local point of view and to experience it from a cultural perspective. The six-day trip to the United Arab Emirates gives insight into very diverse highlights of the destination, its religion, culture, architecture and culinary delights.
The groups of maximum 20 guests will stay at the exclusive Coral Beach Resort in Sharjah. The travel programme encompasses a diverse range of activities: Celebrating the traditional Arabic breakfast “Suhoor” before sunrise as well as “Iftar”, the evening meal after sunset with a Sheikh; visiting famous Mosques and heritage villages in Dubai and Abu Dhabi; participating in cultural awareness sessions which introduce the travellers to the history and social codes of the Arabian Gulf; and lending a helping hand at a charity centre which will show the visitors one of the true meanings and purposes of Ramadan. As a highlight of the programme, the group will be personally received by His Highness Sheikh Adbul Aziz (a member of the UAE nobility) and his family at their home; a unique opportunity to experience true Arabian hospitality.
“Accompanied by Arabian stories and secrets, we will help our guests experience an authentic part of Ramadan and provide them insight into local culture and sustainability projects in a completely authentic and different way,” said Samir Tabbah, CEO of Desert Adventures Tourism.
