KUONI WELCOMES GTA

As of 5 May 2011, Kuoni completed the takeover of Gullivers Travel Associates (GTA).

Gullivers Travel Associates (GTA) has been a global travel wholesaler for more than 35 years and is literally now “everywhere on earth”. GTA has more than 25 office locations worldwide and employs over 2,400 passionate travel professionals.

GTA sources hotel accommodation and a variety of ground travel products all over the world for the global network of FIT and Group wholesale, travel agent and public website clients. Their clients make over 21,000 bookings every day through GTA’s automated booking systems. GTA’s reservations, operations and co-ordination teams ensure its clients’ customers have truly exceptional travel experiences.

In 2010, GTA’s total turnover was approximately USD 1.9 billion – made up of about USD 1.4 billion from FIT business and about USD 500 million from Groups business. Overall GTA sold around 12 million room nights throughout the world.

GTA represents an excellent enhancement to Kuoni’s traditional tour operations business and fits in well with the Kuoni Destination Management (KDM) activities.
