Gateway to success - Geneva, Switzerland

Kuoni Destination Management’s Geneva office made all arrangements for services required at the International Conference “Gateway to Africa”, which took place in Geneva, Switzerland, from 3 to 6 April 2011.

As a recognised Congress specialist, Kuoni Destination Management’s office in Geneva secured part of the accommodation for the 500 participants from all over the globe and provided registration on-site, badge printing and translation services. Furthermore, VIP’s were granted limousine transfers, bodyguards and security at rooms, entrances and gala dinners.

The handling of the event was only confirmed two months in advance. The congress team found a venue and negotiated contracts with their large panel of preferred partners. The team provided excellent local knowledge, flexibility and a real trouble shooting experience.

The first International “Gateway to Africa” Conference provided an interdisciplinary approach to various issues that Africa faces today. The conference was divided into sessions, each with different topics: Critical Areas of Development, Environment and Energy, Challenges in African Health, The Future of Democracy, Conflict Resolution, Education, and the Empowerment of Women. Several prominent non-African keynote speakers, African leaders and opinion-makers such as Al Gore, Gordon Brown, Kofi Annan and Wangari Maathai discussed issues of particular concern to Africa and their respective countries.

“The dedication and patience of the Kuoni team is commendable. The service provided to us has been the highest, on both professional and personal levels.”
Kfir Iluz, COMTEC CEO
