France

From the wide, tree-lined boulevards of its sophisticated and exciting capital city to the breathtaking Loire Valley castles and the glittering Cote d'Azur with its air of romance, it is not hard to see why France has enchanted generations of visitors. The largest country in Western Europe and home to 64 million people, France stretches from the rolling plains of the north to the jaged ridges of the Pyrenees, and from the wild Brittany coastline to the clear, blue lakes and snowy heights of the Alps. No trips to France would be complete without sampling its world-famous cuisine. Eating well is of prime importance to the French!

WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT YOUR DESTINATION?

I would say that France is quite a small country but very attractive with its different regions. It offers various amazing landscapes and is endowed with a rich historical and cultural heritage, giving the opportunity to travel through centuries.

WHAT TIPS WOULD YOU GIVE A TRAVEL PROFESSIONAL WHO IS PLANNING A MEETING IN YOUR DESTINATION?

To deal with a local DMC for the organisation of the event. Local expertise and knowhow save time and ensure appropriate qualification and delivery of requirements.

THERE IS A LARGE MIX OF NATIONALITIES AT YOUR OFFICE. HOW DO YOU ALL COPE ON AN EVERYDAY BASIS?

To manage many different cultures is a daily challenge and we often need to adjust the management style. Nevertheless, this diversity is incredibly valuable to the Kuoni Group and its employees.

WHERE DO YOU SEE KUONI DESTINATION MANAGEMENT IN THE FUTURE?

Kuoni Destination Management France will be the most pre-eminent DMC network in France. Our development will take place in the congress, cruise and meetings & incentives segments.

WHAT ARE THE MOST POPULAR DESTINATIONS IN YOUR COUNTRY?

Paris, the city of lights is obviously very popular. One of the main assets of France is to give the client the opportunity to select their destination according to their wishes and interests. Almost everything is possible in France…

WHY WOULD YOU RECOMMEND YOUR DESTINATION FOR MEETINGS & INCENTIVES?

Paris offers a wide range of choice in terms of accommodation and its logistic infrastructure meets all our clients’ requirements. And let’s not forget our traditional brasseries and gourmet restaurants which bring a significant added value.

WHERE DO MOST OF YOUR CLIENTS ORIGINATE FROM?

Historically, the Paris once based its growth on the Italian market, a very demanding market in terms of meetings and incentives business. Step by step, the contribution of Scandinavian markets became stronger and our market share is significant. During the last two years, we have been focusing our efforts on the Spanish and Portuguese markets.
