Las Vegas

What happens in Vegas doesn’t necessarily have to stay in Vegas. This year, Las Vegas resorts will host more than 23,000 meetings, conventions and incentive programs, ranging in size from 10 to more than 100,000 attendees. The city is more than equipped to accommodate the volume, with more than 9.7 million sq/ft of exhibit space and three of the country's 10 largest convention venues. Furthermore, with over 136,000 rooms located in some of the country’s most luxurious 5-star resorts, Las Vegas boasts more hotel rooms than any other place on earth!

Day or night, Las Vegas offers exciting entertainment and activities. You'll find top-name entertainment, world-class shopping, more than 30 resort spas, nightclubs and lounges and more than 50 golf courses. Few cities can compete with Vegas’ dining options, from all-you-can-eat buffets to some of the finest restaurants in the world. It’s no wonder, on average, attendance increases 18% when conventions rotate into Las Vegas. More rooms, more venues, more restaurants, more shopping, more options – host your next meeting, conference or incentive program in Las Vegas this year!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FEATURE ABOUT YOUR DESTINATION

I love that Las Vegas is ever-changing. A client can come back four times a year and never repeat the same experience.  Unlike other cities, Las Vegas’ event and hospitality community consistently tries  to better itself and is constantly reinventing the definition of what being the ultimate destination city means.

Vegas is melting pot for all the great concepts nationally, so even as it refines its own local culture, the city incorporates slices of other popular destination cities into its fabric.  If you love a celebrity chef, they are likely to have a restaurant in Las Vegas and very likely be here when you’re in town!

If you need massive amounts of convention space and some of the best accommodations in the world, you will find it in Las Vegas. We’ve taken the best of what’s available around the world, and put it all within one unique and vibrant city.

HOW HAVE YOUR CLIENTS USE SOCIAL MEDIA IN THE PLANNING OF MEETINGS, INCENTIVES AND EVENTS?

Facebook and Twitter are becoming mainstays in most corporate branding. We’ve seen clients that target their attendees via Facebook apps, and run their events in tandem with media walls utilizing live twitter feeds. Everyone is experimenting with social media and so are we.

DESCRIBE THE BIGGEST MISPERCEPTION OF YOUR DESTINATION?

I think when people think of Las Vegas, they automatically think of the lights and flashiness of our Strip. And while those are definitely an exciting facet to our city, I like surprising people with some of our other angles. I enjoy sharing the beauty of the desert or the quiet of canyons that are within an hour of the Strip.

WITH WHAT OTHER DESTINATIONS DOES YOUR DESTINATION COMMONLY COMPETE?

Arizona, if the focus is West Coast. Florida, if the client requires a lot of event space.

DESCRIBE SOMETHING FUN A TWIST ON EVENT CONCEPTS THAT YOU RECENTLY DID?

Everyone that comes to Vegas loves to do a Vegas theme. The trick is to find a way to redefine that and make it fresh. We recently produced a Vegas event utilizing the TV show “Mad Men” as our inspiration. The event concept morphed into a retro-Vegas vibe with an ultra cool 50s theme. Vintage cigarette girls handed out old fashioned candy to guests in the registration area. Teambuilding events were reconfigured around a Rat Pack, “Oceans 11” plot to create a “Heist” concept that involved guests working together to discover who was behind the casino plot. The awards night featured a vintage attired starlet who held up the awards winners’ names, in a classy spin on the “Ring Girl”. The guests took it to the next level and all dressed in the genre for the entirety of the program, so everywhere you looked for three days, there were guys in fedoras and dolls in cocktail dresses. Fabulous!
