Interview with Mrs Michelle Kunz, Manager MICE Competence Centre at Kuoni Destination Management recently received the Regional Director Switzerland for MPI Germany title.
- How did you learn about MPI?
It was during my time in London. MPI UK is a very active Chapter and was regularly in the industry news.
- Were there any specific requirements for obtaining the MPI title?
I am delighted to become a Regional Director Switzerland for MPI. I had to show a track record of serving many years in the industry at senior level, bring with me social networking abilities and of course, as it is a voluntary role, the time and interest to serve MPI in such a position as well as enthusiasm for the industry.
- What will be your main responsibilities in this new position?
Organising 3-6 MPI Expert Forum annually in Switzerland. Set impulses and accents. Facilitate the exchange of information and networking amongst members and interested guests. Acquisition of new and retention of exiting members. Orientation guide for new Members.
- I guess you must have years of experience behind you?
Yes, I have been engaged in the travel industry since the mid eighties and have been focusing on MICE since the mid nineties.
- What benefits do you see for yourself and Kuoni Destination Management now that you are also representing MPI?
The Meeting Planner International Community gives us a supreme platform for information exchange amongst like minded professionals from the industry. Allows us to keep up to date with market changes and current industry challenges. It is an ideal place for networking with suppliers and clients. I am hoping that my appointed position will give KDM additional exposure and bring about more brand awareness.
