Managing Director Asian Trails Laos Philippe Conod
New management appointed within Kuoni Destination Management
Philippe Conod has been appointed Managing Director Asian Trails Laos per 15th December 2007. As an internal move from Asian Trails Thailand, he succeeds Annette Monreal who will leave the company at the end of the year. Alexis Viols will succeed Philippe Conod and become Manager Inbound Asian Trails Bangkok per 1st December 2007. André Seiler has been appointed Managing Director Asian Trails Indonesia as of 15th December 2007. He succeeds Renato Domini who decided to leave the company. Véronique Ducassy has been appointed to Head of KDM China (Inbound) as of 1st March 2008.
Philippe Conod who is 57 years of age assumes his new position on 15th December 2007. After having owned a travel agency in Switzerland for fifteen years he moved to Asia in 2005 where he joined Asian Trails. He held the positions of acting General Manager of the Myanmar office, acting Managing Director of the Laos office and Manager Inbound of the Thailand office and has now been appointed Managing Director of the Laos office. His ample experience in the travel industry and his comprehensive knowledge of Asian Trails equip him with the ideal credentials to take on this position.
Succeeding Philippe Conod in the position of Manager Inbound for the Bangkok office is Alexis Viols. He is 34 years old, of French nationality and will join Asian Trails on 1st December 2007. Having worked as Group Product Director for AsiaJet in Thailand for four years, Alexis Viols has a profound knowledge of South East Asia in general and of Thailand in particular. He graduated from Sorbonne University of Paris in 1997 with a master’s degree in French literature. Following his studies he worked for the French Embassy in Seoul, Korea for three years before moving to Thailand.
Announcing further internal news and as of 15th December 2007, André Seiler, 30 years of age, has been appointed Managing Director for Asian Trails Indonesia. Employed by Asian Trails since 2003, he held the position of
Guest Relations Coordinator for the office in Siem Reap (Cambodia) before moving to Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) in 2005 to become Assistant Managing Director for this office. André Seiler graduated from the Tourism Management School in Lucerne and gained experience in the tourism field at Falcon Travel in Zurich and Geneva and Wettstein Travel in Zurich.
Véronique Ducassy has been appointed Head of KDM China (Inbound) as of 1st March 2008. Of French Nationality, Ms. Ducassy studied “Chinese language and civilization” at the Oriental Language school in Paris before obtaining a second degree from the Taiwan Fu-Jen University. Her career which has always been in the hospitality and tourism industry has taken her through numerous positions with an emphasis on Sales and Marketing. Having spent her last 9 years in Asia, of which she lived and worked half of the time in China and half of it in Vietnam, her most recent employment is with Exotissimo Travel in Hanoi. Ad-interim and until end February 2008, Mr. Kris van Goethem will be responsible in this position.
